Holy Cows!

November 4, 2019 by Denise Madan

Spread the love

Miami Lakes consists of over 29,000 residents. On top of that there are an additional 12,000 people who work in the 1,700+ businesses located throughout the community. If you’ve been to Miami Lakes, you might have noticed the herds of cows surrounding the business areas. Where did they come from?

When the Graham Family first arrived to Miami Lakes they originally used it as a pasture in which they graze their cows for their dairy farm. Now, the 3,000 acres is used a little differently. Business now prosper, but the memory of the dairy farm is still present with the luring cows nearby. Personally, I love cows, so it is truly a treat for me to see them on my way into the office everyday. The town is more than just cows, although they are a lot of people’s favorite part.

Miami Lakes is a great place to live. It is conveniently located North of Downtown Miami and only 10 miles from Miami International Airport. The scenic streets, lakes, and the atmosphere of Miami Lakes is inviting. Miami Lakes is known as one of the most beautiful residential areas in South Florida for its tree lined streets, large estate lots, and extremely low crime rate. It contains lots of neighborhood parks, schools, churches and shopping areas which make it an extremely prosperous city to live in. It is a slice of paradise.

Boredom is never something the citizen’s of Miami Lake have to worry about. With 23 lakes, 40+ playground/tot lot areas, 2 multipurpose active parks with play areas baseball/softball/soccer and courts for tennis/basketball, 2 Multipurpose Community Centers, Picnic Shelters for Rental, Marina/Fishing Pier, fitness stations, and recreational greenways/trails, Don Shula’s Hotel & Golf Club with 18-hole course… there is plenty to keep all ages entertained.

The schools in this town are also brag worthy. Miami Lakes K-8 Center, Miami Lakes Middle, Barbara Goleman Senior High School, Bob Graham Education Center, K-8 and Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School, 1/4 mile south of the Town are the schooling options and over half of them received an “A” rating for the past three years.

This area is only going to keep on growing and the list of reasons to move here will just keep getting longer and longer. I live here, I work here, and I love it here. If you have any questions about the area, please don’t hesitate to give me us a call!
